Applying for a UK spouse, fiancé, or partner visa will require applicants to be aware that on 11 April 2024, there will be an essential change to the financial requirements. The UK government declared at the end of the previous year that the minimum income criterion would rise from £18,600 to £29,000, as previously described.
The date that the change will take effect has been revealed in a recent Ministerial Statement. Some couples who still need to fulfil the new criteria can move forward with their plans and apply before 11 April 2024, given that they know when this will happen.
Those who already have a visa under Appendix FM and are on the five-year partner path before April 11, 2024, will not be impacted by the increase. When they reapply, they will only have to reach the existing income criteria of £18,600 annually.
An Explanation Of The Changes:
The legal basis for the move, a Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules, will be presented to Parliament on March 14, 2024. The official name of the UK’s family immigration route, Appendix FM, will change due to this.

Additional Increases:
The administration plans to increase the minimum income threshold in two more phases. Ultimately, this will result in a £38,700 minimum income needed. Additional increases’ dates are still to be revealed.
If someone plans to apply but thinks they might not satisfy the higher income criterion, we advise them to do so as soon as possible.
